Cookie Policy

Last updated October 10, 2026 ยท Effective October 1, 2026

The short version: Our website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If you are just reading, it sets no cookies at all beyond a simple test. The only other cookies are for our own staff when they log in.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser. Some cookies keep you logged in. Others follow you around the internet to show you ads. We only use the first kind, and only a few.

The cookies we use

Our website runs on WordPress. These are the only cookies it sets:

Cookie Purpose Duration Who gets it
wordpress_test_cookie Checks whether your browser accepts cookies Until you close your browser Visitors to the login page
wordpress_logged_in_* Keeps a staff member logged in Session, or 14 days if “Remember me” is checked Our staff only
wp-settings-* Remembers admin screen preferences 1 year Our staff only

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to work. They do not track you and are never shared.

What we do not use

  • No analytics cookies, such as Google Analytics.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels on the website.
  • No third-party fonts. Our fonts are stored on our own server.

Because of this, we do not show a cookie banner. There is nothing to accept.

Tracking in our emails

Our emails work differently from our website. The Thursday List and Flash Perk Alerts are sent by our email service provider. Each email includes a tiny invisible image, called a tracking pixel. When your email program loads images, the pixel tells us the email was opened. Links in the email also pass briefly through our email service provider, so we know which deals were clicked.

These are not cookies on our website. We use the results to learn which deals readers like. We never share them with sponsors in a way that identifies you.

To stop open tracking, turn off automatic image loading in your email program. Many programs, including Apple Mail, also offer a privacy setting that blocks it.

How to control cookies

Every browser lets you see, block, and delete cookies. Look in the “Privacy” or “Settings” menu of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. Blocking cookies will not affect reading our site.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. Since we do not sell or share it, nothing changes, but we respect the signal anyway. See Your Privacy Choices.

Our signup forms

When you sign up, our forms do not set a cookie. Your email address and a few details, such as which form you used, are saved directly in our WordPress database. You can read exactly what we store in our Privacy Policy. Nothing about your visit is sent to an advertising network.
